The unique environment of Llançà

Llançà boasts a seven-kilometre coastline with more than 20 beautiful coves, all of them special with spectacular views, clear water and linked by the coastal walk (Cami de Ronda) which borders the coast from Colera to Cap de Creus,

The paths and trails, dolmens and monasteries, cliffs, natural reserves and coves of Llançà will show us the historical essence of the Mediterranean set in a distinctive landscape, sketched by the Tramontan wind and outlined by the sea.

There are nine different routes to enjoy. We should also mention two greater routes, the GR-11 (from Cantabria to the Mediterranean), part of which runs very near to our hotel, and the GR-92 (from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean).

For cyclists Llançà offers rough routes to enjoy, quiet streams, abrupt coves, trails of all types each one to be explored.

Llançà boasts a great number of restaurants where one can get to know the Mediterranean cuisine, rich in fish, seafood and rice dishes. The maxium gastronomic quality thanks to one of the town's important industries: fishing.

The Tramuntana wind, the Mediterranean and the Pyrénees give the optium conditions to create wines worthy of a guarantee of origen of quality wines from the Empordà. Enjoy theses wines with the Wine Trail (Ruta del Vi D.O. Empordà) where you will have the opporunity to visit the best wineries of the area. From Colera to Garriguella, Vilajuïga, Perelada or Capmany.

Over the Sierra of Verdera rises one of the most interesting group of monuments of the medieval world. In this area are grouped three elements which represent the height of fuedal society: for those who prayed, the Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery, those who produced, the town of Santa Creu and those who fought Sant Salvador de Verdera castle.

Between land and sea, Cap de Creus is an area of great beauty, endowed with a singular geological configuration, with structures and flora unique in the world. The effect of the Tramontana wind has eroded the landscape to make spectacular shapes and has transformed it into a very special place.
